Don't start with me on the pic above . (Okay, Christian Bale is on GQ Magazine's June Issue, check it out). On a more serious note, I may be pushing the envelope here. But really, this forthcoming months I'll be having the tightest schedule of all and seeing how things are going, a daily or (even weekly) post is out of the question. So I'm doing an advance Monthly Playlist of the best tracks for June. I've added a bunch of remixes and covers as well that I found oddly interesting. Just goes to show you should never underestimate the potential of mainstream tracks! Hurry and download till the remaining 3G bandwidth runs out. :)
26 BOMBASTIC Tracks
SINGLES (Ave Rating: 8.2 Stars out of 10)
I enjoyed this The Boy Least Likely To track most along with The Crystal Method's techno-inspired track. A mellow and light Au Revoir Simone and a three thumbs up to Jeremy Enigk (hard to pronounce let alone spell)!
Deer Tick's angst-ridden guitar intro paves the way for the lead's husky voice. Anyway I'll shut up, you listen.
The Boy Least Likely To - Every Goliath Has Its David
The Henry Clay People - You Can Be Timeless
St. Vincent - Marrow
The Explorer Club - Do You Love Me?
The Crystal Method featuring Jason Lytle - Slipstream
Au Revoir Simone - All or Nothing
Au Revoir Simone - Knight of Wands
Akron/Family - Last Year
Company of Theives - Oscar Wilde
Black Moth Super Rainbow - Born on the Day The Sun Didn't Rise
Deer Tick - Easy
Jeremy Enigk - Just A State of Mind
NEW SINGLES (Ave Rating: 8.0 Stars out of 10)
Little Boots, Regina Spektor and Au Revoir Simone -- Indie Music's prized female artists recently released these new tracks that are too good for words.
Regina Spektor - Dance Anthem of the 80's
Little Boots - Remedy
Little Boots - Hearts Collide
Au Revoir Simone - Take Me As I Am
COVERS (Ave Rating: 7.5 Stars out of 10)
I'm a bit confused if Robyn really sang the original of this song. Anyway, it's a good track by Yelle. Same thing goes for the Lykke Li's cover of the KOL hit, remixed by Death to the Throne.
Yelle - Qui Est Cette Fille (Robyn Cover)
Lykke Li - Knocked Up (Kings of Leon Cover) (Death to the Throne Remix)
REMIXES (Ave Rating: 8.5 Stars out of 10)
A lot of people can attest to my dislike for anything Taylor Swift. Imagine my shock when I realized this remix I kept on playing over and over was a remix of her You're Not Sorry track! Dudes, this track is pure sweetness (thanks to CSI), you gotta give it a listen. Do the same for the Major Lazer track and the Grizzly Bear remix.
Lady Gaga - Paparazzi (Yuksek Remix)
Dragonette - Pick Up the Phone (Leht MoJoe Remix)
Major Lazer - Hold the Line (Golden Gloves Wobble n Shake Remix)
Taylor Swift - You're Not Sorry (CSI Remix)
Akron/Family - Sun Will Shine (Warmth of the Sunship Version)
Passion Pit - The Reeling (Mike Snow Remix)
Röyksopp - The Girl and The Robot (Chateau Marmont Remix)
Grizzly Bear - Two Weeks of HipHop (Dead Prez vs. Grizzly Bear by The Hood Internet)
