Thieves By Tuesday*

The last news I received from Brandon Flowers of the internationally popular band The Killers going solo was from Stereogum on somethime last April. And now, from WAWS, news of his album and a new track as well. His first debut album entitled Flamingo will be released sometime in the future (sounds vague, though, right?). Brandon Flowers' first track after going solo is 'Crossfire' and 109.1 RXP was the first to get their hands on it. I still am not sure but they must've played the track as a leak.

The song began well, slowly building up to a good chorus. But then again, if Brandon Flowers was aiming for a radio hit, I doubt if he'll get it with this track. It doesn't sound awful, but certainly a bit mediocre compared to those coming from Hot Fuss and Day & Age.

GNARLY GOOD MUSIC. Different way of describing but then again I've never been really a fan of Wavves. More appropriately, not much of a garage rock fan. But Wavves might have changed that. First time I heard his music, I was a little bit annoyed by the bleary and indistinct layers but I this time, I think there is something really good one can appreciate with Wavves' officially released new single "Post Acid. His 3rd album will be released August this year, with the title "King of The Beach."

I have previously posted The Delfield's cover of The Cranberries hit, Dreams. Now Passion Pit did their own version too, and performed the piece as a surprise encore after playing EVERY SINGLE PIECE FROM CHUNK OF CHANGE AND MANNERS during their recent tours from Washington to parts of Atlanta. It sounds faintly like Jonsi of Sigur Ros, don't you think? Anyway - Love Love Love it! Here's the cover. Enjoy!

This playlist is created with credits to ISO50 blog. I renamed the playlist from There Will Be Echoes to In Reality and In Dreams because I think some if not most of the remixes have an underlying dreamy and a slight romantic feel despite the upbeat party mood. The tracks are related to the Moodgadget label, and has reached about almost a thousand downloads since the 4th of June 2010, so I think it's suffice to say the list is superb. :)

JUNE 2010--Halfway through the year anyone could say they’ve seen enough to make a prediction of how 2010 would end. I am often drawn by the eccentric charm brought about by the unpredictable panorama of the future and I’m excited for the new songs that will drive us loco with pleasure. The music fans of this generation have impeccable taste, The upsurge of musical talents makes me every bit the happy aficionado and the same should go for you too.

For June, here are 24 laudable music tracks from artists far and wide (Australia - Denmark and the places in between sounds like a great tuneful trip). I want to focus on lesser known musical artists who deserve their own hard earned recognition for the brilliant music they’ve been contribution to the music industry all this time. Some have worked for years until they had their prized record deal, and some say that would be tantamount to the acme of their musical careers but having unyielding and obliging fans are incomparable.

It took me a bit too long but I had so much fun making this special Hardcore Mixtape post and it's dedicated to all the musicians who have been so generous and approachable to their sometimes fanatical fans, and to those music bloggers who continue being diligent and devoted in spreading the word of great music to anyone who is willing to listen.

Also, I know Thieves By Tuesday* doesn’t have that much fans so I want to send out my deepest gratitude to those who still drop by on a regular basis with the flock fold of new and better music blogs out there. Really - thank you, thank you thank you!

I'm gonna ride the wave on this because I know, Gaga's music might be way over the top at times, but her music videos have taken quite an interesting route.

At 2:08, Lady Gaga speaks in a German accent, and I am getting a bit of Soviet Union-esque vibe. Then pop up these men with the most odd haircuts, and after a while, a bit of Madonna-angles from Vogue as any music fan will notice. Some say an Ace of Base rip-off, but I don't see it though. This music video, although initially can mask you with the dark and quality cinematography, does not send a clear message.

I found a recent blog post courtesy of Procne that had an in-depth review of the video: Here's what the blogger said:

The most obvious example of its commentary is the critique of “Don’t Ask Don’t Tell” (DADT) which is the military’s policy of ousting openly gay military members.

Well that clears that up. But my opinion remains unchanged. Sorry if I'm the Debbie Downer of this post, but she used to represent artistic drama with a good dose of theatricality. It seems now, she had embraced it too much and has lost quite the special spark that made a lot of us admire her.

I still look forward to her music when anything new comes a long, but hopefully, something like Just Dance, Paparazzi, or the highly laudable Poker Face will come out that will take our breaths away.
