Jens Lekman and his Waltz Time Summer Mix

Well, its hardly the ideal summer here as the rain pours almost everyday, but I still have the image of Bora Bora's pristine beaches as my screensaver. We all have fond memories of summer, but now is not the time to reminisce. Now there’s something from Jens Lekman, who’s been under the radar aside from doing Whip It. The goodie bag of tracks all started when Jens made a remix for his favorite Au Revoir Simone track, in which he took a 4/4 pop song and transformed it into a waltz. Then the mp3 spun out into this luscious quilt of cuts set in 3/4 time dubbed by Lekman “Summer In 3/4 Time.”

Here's the playlist for the single file:
Au Revoir Simone - Shadows (Jens Lekman's remix)
Barbara Mason - Oh How It Hurts
Thomas Mapfumo - Madiro
The Morning Benders - Excuses
dialogue from Gregory's Girl (1981)
Chad & Jeremy - Everyone's Gone To The Moon
music and dialogue from Day Of The Locust (1975)
Eggstone - Birds In Cages
Pete Drake - Forever
Armando Mantovani - Around the World
dialogue from Puberty Blues (1981)
Jane Morgan & the Troubadours - Fascination
Armando Trovajoli - L'Amore Dice Ciao
Sharon O'Neill - Puberty Blues
Like A Sleepy Blue Ocean

DOPE: Friendly Fires! Au Revoire Simone! Aeroplane! Paris!

It's amazing how every new Aeroplane remix is released keeps getting better and better. These dudes deserve more than a round of applause with this feat. And with their brilliant minds for making amazing changes on their album version of Paris. Even if I do admit of loving the track's original version, the decision to scrape out their vocals and replace them completely with new ones for the re-release was probably the best choice for it. Thank God it wasn't Lady GaGa who did the vocals but the fanta-bulous and breath-taking Au Revoir Simone (Holy cow, her voice) who nailed it hard bringing the song to a whole new level, even probably the best songs of the year.

The Aeroplanes remix has been all over the net for days (I know) but here's an even higher kbps for their 192. Since it's one of the greatest remixes from Aeroplanes, I had to hook you up with the 320kbps version for complete pleasure.

Here is a song by Todd Terje calle Eurodans. Do you think its quite similar?

Nonetheless, this Paris version is a winner. I think you better go download it and knock yourselves out.

The new version of Paris will be released on the 10th of November with remixes by Justus Köhncke and Arto Mwambe along with the Aeroplane remix.
