WEEKLIES: Beating Like A Hammer

Since the weekend is drawing near, I've been planning on heading over to the beach. Never mind the ice cool water getting through the bones, all I want is sun, sand and waves. Anyway, this weekend calls for a celebration! Feauturing this week are tracks that you should definitely get your hands on --- two new tracks from harp-playing prodigy Joanna Newsom, Free Energy, an unreleased track from Beyonce Knowles, Kid Cudi's laid-back, stoner beat infused track off his new mixtape, new stuff from Parker, Metric's Monster Hospital remixed by MSTRKRFT, Daft Punk Mashup with the Gorillaz, Lo-Fi-Fnk's The End, Thieves Like Us going all nighttime slow dance on us, a Moullinex remix of Cut Copy's Lights and Music, and a tasty Greyboy and Sharon Jones track. Hit me up when you want to suggest any good tracks. Ciao!

STOP SASHA: Beyonce Knowles AKA Thief(?)

Ring the Alarm!
Copycat Beyoncé and all the images and style she's stolen.

Haven't I seen that dress before? On a recent video shoot, Beyoncé donned a mermaid-style gown that Jennifer Lopez wore ten years ago

MORE of her copied looks, inside.

Robopop: Beyoncé stepped out on stage in a robotic ensemble remarkably similar to one worn by Kylie Minogue in 2002

If the glove fits: Beyoncé's cyborg style glove echoes Kylie's gold pair

Eye-catching: Beyoncé's make-up evokes Rihanna

Big shoulders: Beyoncé and Rihanna have worn very similar stage outfits

Making an entrance: She descends onto the stage, just like Britney before her and in a similar manner to Angelina Jolie

Funky: Her motorcycle bustier is certainly dramatic, but it's by no means a one-off, as proven by Alice Dellal (above left) and a George Michael video (right)

Sasha Fierce?  All I can say for this absolute nonsense is.. I love Kylie.

Check out a guilt-free download of the song "Berlin" that is taken from "Holiday." It is a soothing synth pop tune with a throbbing bassline, glistening strings, creative use of the vocoder and Brandon's mesmerizing vocals. "Holiday" will be available in digital download stores on November 18.

Following on the heels of his smash "Let It Rock," Kevin Rudolph's new single "NYC" features more of his signature mesh of pop, rock and hip hop. Rudolph is quickly emerging as a much sough-after writer and producer. This new track, "NYC," is a ode to his favorite city features a slamming cameo from NAS. He never disappoints. Read more about Rudolph's rise to fame on Billboard's web site .

A track from E-40 does it right with T-Pain in Give Her The Keys. Other tracks from the Young P 3018 remix of Grum's Woah, Usher's At The Time, Electrosound's AWESOME AWESOME track Gossip Around The World and Berlin's Alaska In Winter. Another track from I Am... Sasha Fierce, Beyonce's new album coming out this November.

Leave you feedback on the tracks!

HOT: Sweet Dreams Covers + Beyonce

The only Sweet Dreams song that I can remember everytime I hear the word is Annie Lennox's (Eurythmics) one. The song is immortal. I listened to it yesterday and guess what? I got half-lucid and feel like I've drunk one bottle of tequila in one chug. Really. Download these other covers by Marilyn Manson and Tori Amos. Another song of the same title (but different) from Air Supply. And of course, Beyonce's newest single from her album, I am ... Sasha Fierce.

Enjoy!

All The Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It) isn't exactly everyone expects from Beyonce. I didn't listen to it more than twice so my opinion on this track may not be absolute.

Upon the first listen, I kinda dig the song. The beat has foundation, but like many pop/dance/RNB tracks being released now, there is just too many redundant lyrics and the melody begins to bore you (is there a track that comes to mind with this description?). I WANT to like this track, not because its from Beyonce but because the song has so much potential. Maybe a few tweaks here and there and we have a chart topper.

Listen to the track and download it inside this post.
