You'd probably be sick right now with all the Cudi posts. Well this won't be anything different save for the fact that I (partially) appreciate Kid Cudi adding a jest of pop in his music. I know he's been taking heat on this change but let's give the man a chance to spread his wings, right? Okay that might sound a bit gay but don't get me wrong, I'm not a hater - if anything I love rap despite my affinity for the less hardcore more gangsta and old school and definitely lots of collaborations. Erase Me was a bit overwhelming to the majority of the fans and so is this one. This track from Kid Cudi's album Man On The Moon (which comes out October 26) retains his sing-and-rap style and the change is apparent but I have this gut feeling that Man On The Moon has more in store for us. I hope it won't disappoint.

Welcome to a first of a series of music video collectives here in TBT*'s Video Shack. If you frequent this blog, you should know how out of the loop I am on the new videos coming out. Mayer Hawthorne can do a lot of things with that voice and retro sound of his. Take Exhibit A, from the music video. The throwback style and dancing attractive women seems like another of his typical weekends.

Nicki Minaj - "Your Love"

Nicki Minaj scores gets a big score for doing a 180 degree turn from her warrior-in-training drama closing the video with the dying ending. "Your Love" samples lines from Annie Lennox's "No More 'I Love You's'," so seeing some frou frou fashion statement in highly unlikely.


Mount Kimbie - "Would Know"

Mount Kimbie have released a music video for "Would Know" and it was directed by hotly tipped filmaker Tyrone Lebon. The track is taken off their debut album, Crooks & Lovers out now via Hotflush Recordings.


Best Coast, Rostam & Kid Cudi – “All Summer”

Here it is, the hot Converse-funded collab "All Summer" track featuring the between Best Coast’s Bethany Cosentino, Kid Cudi, and Rostam Batmanglij. Yeah the mugging of large heads whilst in the apartment might not be your way of spending the summer but these three know how to have fun at it.

Last year, Converse's Three Artists, One Song got Pharrel William, Julian Casablancas and Santigold for 'My Drive Thru'. Now, it's only sensible for Converse to have the most popular artists-- Kid Cudi, Rostam Batmanglij of Vampire Weekend and Bethany Consentino of Best Coast -- for this year's version. Will this track be a sneak peek of the upcoming Warped Tour? I sure hope so.

This new one from Kid Cudi featuring Kanye West was premiered recently in KIISFM and was said to be the first single from Cudi's forthcoming album Man On The Moon II: Legend Of Mr. Rager. Hey, what about REVOFEV? This sounds entirely un-Kid Cudi to me, if there's a word for it. Kanye says the word "diarrhea" (verbal diarrhea you mean?). It's something mainstream hip-hop or rap would sound, of which I'm not sure is a good thing. Radio rip is okay, a decent 160 mbps so you stream and download it. Credits to P&P.

♫ Miike Snow - The Rabbit | I do try to keep up with the news jams that keep coming out but in this one, I've been late in hitting the tidal wave. Finally the group will hint us with the rabbit's meaning of their logo. I'm telling you, check the video below!




♫ Scissor Sisters - Invisible Light | The flamboyant glam-pop might turn some music fans off but this track certainly starts and ends with a bang, even with the added glitter.

♫ Gorillaz - On Melancholy Hill | The second track off their album, Plastic Beach, is as soothing and catchy at the same time. Unfortunately I couldn't find a decent copy of their music video as their label is notorious for taking down clips, so this mp3 should suffice. Hit me a comment when you find a link to the video.

♫ Metric - All Yours (Eclipse OST) | The movie franchise Twilight gave the music world a little shake and surprise when their New Moon Eclipse OST featured the likes of Thom Yorke and Grizzly Bear. Now once again, they feature Beck, Bat for Lashes, Vampire Weekend and my personal favorite, Metric.

In high regard for the most fun I had yesterday in weeks, I post this sumptous Weeklies playlist. Since the weekend is drawing near, I've been planning on heading over to the beach. Never mind the ice cool water getting through the bones, all I want is sun, sand and waves. Anyway, this weekend calls for a celebration! Feauturing this week are tracks that you should definitely get your hands on --- two new tracks from harp-playing prodigy Joanna Newsom, Free Energy, an unreleased track from Beyonce Knowles, Kid Cudi's laid-back, stoner beat infused track off his new mixtape, new stuff from Parker, Metric's Monster Hospital remixed by MSTRKRFT, Daft Punk Mashup with the Gorillaz, Lo-Fi-Fnk's The End, Thieves Like Us going all nighttime slow dance on us, a Moullinex remix of Cut Copy's Lights and Music, and a tasty Greyboy and Sharon Jones track. Yeah. I'm one of those people. I'm definitely one of those people, who happen to have bad first impressions. Which is why it took me at least 3 listens to 'Day n' Nite' to appreciate it. And now, Dan Black (UK "Wonky Pop" artist) features Kid Cudi in a remix of his hit UK single, Symphonies. The track has the drumline reminiscent of Rihanna's Umbrella, and has really good prospects for a Billboard hit. Hit the play button up for a listen and download the track.

Here are 4 newly leaked tracks by Kanye West - "Street Lights " (or "See You In My Nightmares", as some people call it), "Tell Everybody That You Know " featuring Lil Wayne, "Amazing " featuring Young Jeezy and "Paranoid " with Kid Cudi.

"Street Lights "and "Anyway"/Paranoid is my (Read : Hands Down) favorite out of the four - he didn’t overload on the autotune as usual. The other two songs are great also, but the autotune gets annoying after a while. Even though the album is due out on November 24th, the whole album basically leaked on the internet, all we’re missing is two songs. Kanye's probably fuming at this.
