Thieves By Tuesday*

There had been way too many remarkable songs to fit into a top 10, heck, even a top 25 list for me. So here, I'm giving you a peek into the colossal (to exaggerate it a bit) number of songs that shook, ripped and sewn together my year. 2009 bore witness to the influx of exquisitely created music from an expansive and diverse pool of genres. Indie, rap/ hiphop power reigned supreme in the charts and year-end lists. These songs may not be what you'll rank as your best 100, but I guarantee you, these are DEFINITELY worth having in your player. I'm not sure if I'll be able to post something new til next year, so to be sure... SEE YOU THIS 2010! Thanks for a great 2009 folks!

*.ZIP file downloadable tomorrow.

OH NOES - The .ZIP file I prepared was unfortunately delted, so I have to make-do with this Mediafire folder. The folder is public and all the tracks from the list is downloadable there. My apologies for the inconvenience. Happy holidays!

Lupe's got a new release, and although this Robin Thicke song is a few days old, you better give it a listen. Ke$ha, who's topping the charts overseas, has a new track-- Love is A Drug. Mos Def's Supermagic, 2 Passion Pit remixes of OK Go and Paper Route and to close the Weeklies is a track from Timbaland featuring Jojo! Expect more anthem songs and music jams for the next week!

UK recording artists Ellie Goulding and Erik Hassle turned in this acoustic cover of Robyn's "Be Mine," and their version feels so intuitive, it seems like someone should've recorded the original track as a duet before now.

:: Ellie Goulding - Be Mine (Robyn Cover feat. Erik Hassle)

After all the work this week, I still have the finals to prepare for this weekend. I've had it pretty rough but I'm just going to take this teeny little break for myself and share these new tracks I got all over the interweb. And with new, I mean, half of these artist's I've heard of only recently (my age can attest to this flaw). These tracks got me through this very tiresome week - so I hope it does the same for you.

:: Kid Cudi ft. Vampire Weekend - CudderIsBack
Hmm. An Ottoman remix from Cudi. Just the right taste. Just great.

:: The Soft Pack - Answer To Yourself

:: Shout Out Clouds - Walls
AWESOME. These guys are just A.W.E.S.O.M.E. They've achieved self-actualization.

:: Ted Leo - Even Heroes Have To Die

:: Lil Wayne - On Fire

:: Shearwater - Castaways

:: Nina Simone - Feeling Good (Troublemaker Remix)
Got this one over Pigeons and Planes. Really good remix of Nina Simone's.

:: Glass Ghost - Mechanical Life

:: Kanye West - Paranoid (Kevin In Color Remix)
I've heard a LOT of remixes of Paranoid, and although this doesn't rank as the best, it sure it something to shake your booty to.

:: Woven Bones - If You're Gold, I'm Gone

:: Lil Wayne - I Feel Like Dying (Flying Lotus Remix)
Flying Lotus did a pretty nasty good remix of this Lil Wayne's song. Me likey.

:: Beach House - Lover of Mine
Another good track from Beach House. These guys really made a different genre for themselves.

:: Jonsi - Boy Lilikoi
This song is from the voice of Sigur Ros. I can't add the appropriate symobls for the letters, so bear with me on this. One of the things I like most about Jonsi / Sigur Ros's music is this "Christmas" kind of feeling I get. Which is wierd cause I am a born pessimist, but sometimes, it gets to be a little different for me.

HAVE FUN THIS WEEKEND!

As promised, here is the official soundtrack of the 4th season of Grey's Anatomy. Other than Grey's Anatomy, other hit shows like Gossip Girl, Chuck, Fringe, Glee, Dollhouse, One Tree Hill, Ugly Betty, House and many more. You've got to give a hand to the music supervisors of these shows for their success. The music is not perfect, but it's certainly entertaining. The show goes mostly for indie favorites like The National, Ingrid Michaelson, The Gossip, Tegan and Sara, The Bird and the Bee, Bon Iver, Feist, Goldfrapp, Rilo Kiley, Frightened Rabbit, The Republic Tigers, Yeah Yeah Yeahs and more. Enjoy!

You can also check out the 3rd season here: Season 3
(I'm working on the individual mp3s. For those which don't have their own links yet, I hope you can bear with the .ZIP files.)

It's common knowledge that Marina (of the Diamonds) has never been a fan of the anti-consumerism invective of "Hollywood." Her ironic head cheerleader smile and the punchy chorus makes it all good. Is is just my imagination or there's some bits of disdain (and possibly hostility) here?

I've been the best example of a little girl lost this month, with all sorts of trouble I'm getting myself into. Another thing: Sorry for the long absence and I hope you'd find this post entertaining.

This is a good one. The Cheek’s Hung Up is originally produced by Ed Buller and mixed by Alan Moulder. More stuff coming from these guys this 2010!

:: Cheek - Hung Up (Everything Everything Remix)

Pariah has a way with remixing. They have this remixing technique that weaves ethereal notes that you might find oddly creepy but would totally kill for.

:: Bombay Bicycle Club - Always Like This (Pariah Mix)
:: Ellie Goulding - Under The Sheets (Pariah Remix)

She-bang courtesy of Cassian and Chicago's Hey Champ.

:: Empire Of The Sun - Standing On The Shore (Cassian Remix)
:: Mike Posner - Cooler Than Me (Hey Champ Remix)

The Twelves transformed Seven's gloom to dancefloor worthy track. Fever Ray's next single,‘ Keep The Streets Empty For Me’ is out last 24th Nov.

:: Fever Ray - Seven (The Twelves Remix)

Shiny sounds from the Starsmith!

:: Frankmusik - Better Off As Two (Starsmith Holidaying In The Heath Remix)

A lot of people have been saying how mediocre the Siriusmo remixes has been lately, but whoever thinks that these geniuses deliver half arsed remixes for dough should be burned at the stake!

:: Gossip - Heavy Cross (Siriusmo Dub)
:: Mayer Hawthorne - Green Eyed Love (Classixx Remix)

It's Sinden, for crying out loud. What more could you ask for?

:: Jack Splash - I Could Have Loved You (ft. Missy Elliot & Jazmine Sullivan) (Sinden Remix)

These two female artists are polar opposites. The Pop/Disco chart topper and the newcomer. But there are two things they have in common, radically refine taste in making music and getting awesome remixes for their singles.

:: Jessica 6 - Fun Girl (Byzar Remix)
:: Lady Gaga - Bad Romance (Hercules & Love Affair Dub)

2 atmospheric pieces by What Kind Of Breeze Do You Blow?

:: The XX - Night Time (What Kind of Breeze Do You Blow? Extended Edit)
:: Kings Of Convenience - Rule My World (What Kind of Breeze Do You Blow? Extended Edit)

Russ Chimes is King Midas. Every music he touches makes my ears bleed gold. The bold beats and epic piano rhythms keeps me hooked.

:: Steed Lord - Remember Me (Russ Chimes Remix)

The A-Trak remix is the more popular one but I'm giving credit to James Iha's symphonic and vintage-y feel.

:: Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Heads Will Roll (A-Trak Remix)
:: Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Heads Will Roll (James Iha Remix)

Don't you find it undoubtedly true that whatever track followed by the the names Lifelike, Aeroplane, Kris Menace, Prins Thomas is highly recommendable!!

:: Robbie Williams - Bodies (Aeroplane Instrumental Remix)
:: Scott Hardkiss - You’re The Star (Kris Menace Remix)
:: The Phenomenal Handclap Band - You’ll Disappear (Prins Thomas Diskomiks)
