This is a (VERY) old video of the indie-folk-Balkan group, Beirut's performance of Postcards from Italy last May 6, 2007 at the Bowery Ballroom, New York.

Welcome to a first of a series of music video collectives here in TBT*'s Video Shack. If you frequent this blog, you should know how out of the loop I am on the new videos coming out. It would be GREAT if you leave suggestions on any good video you think everyone should see by leaving a comment! I'd be totally down with your suggestion, just as long as it's worth sharing!

Mayer Hawthorne can do a lot of things with that voice and retro sound of his. Take Exhibit A, from the music video. The throwback style and dancing attractive women seems like another of his typical weekends.

Nicki Minaj - "Your Love"

Nicki Minaj scores gets a big score for doing a 180 degree turn from her warrior-in-training drama closing the video with the dying ending. "Your Love" samples lines from Annie Lennox's "No More 'I Love You's'," so seeing some frou frou fashion statement in highly unlikely.


Mount Kimbie - "Would Know"

Mount Kimbie have released a music video for "Would Know" and it was directed by hotly tipped filmaker Tyrone Lebon. The track is taken off their debut album, Crooks & Lovers out now via Hotflush Recordings.


Best Coast, Rostam & Kid Cudi – “All Summer”

Here it is, the hot Converse-funded collab "All Summer" track featuring the between Best Coast’s Bethany Cosentino, Kid Cudi, and Rostam Batmanglij. Yeah the mugging of large heads whilst in the apartment might not be your way of spending the summer but these three know how to have fun at it.

Katy Perry - New Music - More Music Videos

Katy Perry - California Gurls appears to have affinity for generous derrière.



MGMT - It's Working | Above is the video of the tracks off MGMT's zeitgeist-eschewing sophomore album Congratulations, It's Working. The video is not the best of quality but you'd surely love the fun yet depth presented by the video. Ben dressed as a girl - now that's random. Other than the extreme randomness, the ultra-hip and retro esque feel makes us think, are they trying to confuse for the sake of confusing? Check the best resolution of the video in Who Is MGMT!



Dum Dum Girls - Bang Bang I'm a Burnout | The brand new video for Dum Dum Girls' "Bhang Bhang, I'm A Burnout", directed by Christin Turner, is as perfect a visual companion to the song as I could have imagined. Girls dancing, colorful layers, sunshine — what more could one ask for?



Tame Impala - Solitude Is Bliss| The debut single from Tame Impala's forthcoming album 'InnerSpeaker', directed by Megaforce. 'InnerSpeaker' is released on May 21 (AUS) and June 8 (US).

Amazing track. Can't say the same for the video but Hospice is a gorgeous album. Highly recommended that you buy The Antler's album.

Last February 11, Neon Indian made their TV debut on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. Tracks from their album "Psychic Chasms" were performed like Terminally Chill and Ephemeral Artery.



I'm really digging the energy I see from Alan Palomo and the rest of Neon Indian, much less know he has a band. But nonetheless, awesome performance. Its adorable how Jimmy Fallon likes them.

Such a Political Video, don't you think?
Best. Video. Ever. I never liked the original nursery rhymes anyway. It's really deadly... Kind of weird at the start but then you remember what mercury was like and you know they're heading in a completely new direction with their videos... Anyone agree?

I don't know about you but I have been waiting for this video to be officially posted. I've been pretty vocal with my affection for this electro - pop artist, so this won't come as a surprise that I posted her recent video in Thieves By Tuesday*.

The Miami-vice kind of theme of the video gives you that afterfeel of the beaches, but ironical isn't it, the video being  released this winter season? Nonetheless, this video just proves the ingenious and nonconformist that is La Roux.

The interesting lighting of the video really accentuates La Roux's short ginger bob. Nice....

I must say, Ladyhawke is getting on my good side lately. With this video, I mean. I know I won't be the first one to say this but this video just puts Ladyhawke 's artistic take on music on the map! It's truly breathtaking *sigh.

Chateau Marmont gave the track a retro remix treatment, while Fan Death remix is plain sick. Toddla T & Ross Orton makes good with techno. Get your doses right over here mates.

Robyn's new video is all the rave in YouTube and I don't want to be the last one in line! The video is wonderfully performed, nothing less from the Swedish sweetheart!

Before I go prepare for a series of quizzes, I just can't help but do the scandalous popstar a little favor and post her much awaited new UNCENSORED VIDEO from Britney Spears for her sexy new single Womanizer - watch it INSIDE - it's super hot.

Britney released the video that's been the hottest topic online and away from the keyboard. Everybody's favorite girlfriend is back big time and about to make a huge splash with her upcoming album Circus!

I sure loved it. I hope you do too... :)

Whoever said the Game was cooler than Kanye? If such person exists, he must be one helluva lunatic. So, in other issues, early in the 7th of October, the most awaited video of Kanye West's Love Lockdown debuted and, naturally, every music blogger scrammed to be the first one to put it out on their blogs. Although I'm not one of those bloggers, I am one of the very few who scored this pristine and HD version of Kanye West's video. I like this video because I'm impossibly obsessed with American Psycho.

One of my favorite ladies from Sweden, Robyn,  has released her FRESH video of Cobrastyle! Robyn is really something, don't you think? Friendly blog Sheena Beaston was one of the first who got in it.

Sweet! No wonder Madonna got Robyn for her Europe Sticky and Sweet tour.

Deerhoof have released yet another new video, this time for "Chandelier Searchlight" . The new record, Offend Maggie, is out now via Kill Rock Stars. The video is really artsy. Reminds me of the paper puppets my uncle and I used to make late in the summer.

Deerhoof really defines their style with Chandelier Searchlight. I loves me some Chandelier.
