Mumford and Sons by Stay Loose

Mumford and Sons need SIGH NO MORE. I'm going to let your comments pass through my ear (i.e. Did you only get the wind of their brilliance just NOW? You must live under a rock; and others of the same gist). Because I am inexplicably in a brilliant light after listening to this. Folk and Bluegrass wasn't my most favorite genre but I had to credit them for having me embrace the genre more. Their debut album Sigh No More is one of the brilliant albums I heard and I think I'm getting verbal diarrhea from talking about them nonstop to anyone who wants to listen. I don't give a shit if P4k can't see the talent abundant in this group. This ultimately sets the bar for all the folk bands and groups who are about to release albums this 2010. Enjoy the BBC One sessions with Little Lion man along with the Vampire Weekend cover of Cousins.

I've got a serve up for today!

This breezy song woven with a laid back undertone, Standfast's NO LONGER, is the kind of song you'd listen to in summer, lying around in a hammock with the rays of the sun slightly curtain over your face.

Best heard while sipping lemonade.

You might notice a hint of The Cardigans but its dreamy and relaxing sound lends distinction to the song.

Words of advice: Close your eyes and let the music take you away!

There is something about combining an echoing guitar, raw vocals, and deep percussion that D.C.'s The Walkmen do correctly. Their music is like making batches of chocolate chip cookies, rather simple to concoct but damn hard to perfect. The album really accentuates their own sound and the unique personality they perform with.
Here are samples of their album's other songs.

WEEKLIES: Feist Hams It Up

Here are free mp3 downloads of the quirky songstress, Leslie Feist, popularly known as Feist.
Click on to download.

Feist facts:

Leslie Feist (born February 13, 1976 in Amherst, Nova Scotia, Canada) is a Juno Award-winning and Grammy-nominated Canadian singer-songwriter. She performs as a solo artist under the name Feist and as a member of the indie rock supergroup Broken Social Scene. At the 2008 Juno Awards on April 6, 2008 in Calgary, Alberta, she was the top winner with five awards, including Songwriter, Artist, Pop Album, Album and Single of the Year.

Extra deets:

* On April 6, 2008, Feist won a Juno Award for the single as "Single of the Year".

* Feist was photographed by Annie Leibovitz for the November 2007 issue of Vanity Fair (No. 567) as part of a photo essay on folk music, also featuring Joni Mitchell, Peter, Paul and Mary, and The Guthrie Family.

* Feist was the musical guest on Saturday Night Live on November 3, 2007, where she performed "1234" and "I Feel It All". During this appearance, which was hosted by NBC news anchor Brian Williams, Feist met Fran Drescher, which led her to comment, "As if this day couldn't get any weirder."[10]

* Feist will perform in the season premiere of Sesame Street, to air on August 11, 2008. Reportedly she sings a version of “1234” with the lyrics modified to focus on counting, and performs another song accompanied by Elmo.[11]

* Feist has had her music covered by many artists such as fellow Nova Scotians Travis MacRae and Buck 65, as well as bandmates Broken Social Scene and former tour mate Bright Eyes. Fellow Canadian Buck 65 appeared in the Feist-directed music video for "One Evening," which was also nominated for Video of the Year at the 2004 Juno Awards.

* Feist works primarily with video director Patrick Daughters, who directed the videos for "Mushaboom", "1234", "My Moon, My Man", and "I Feel It All," the "1234" and "My Moon, My Man" were

Arjanwrites_littlejackie
I'm not a hundred percent certain, but I'm pretty sure that Little Jackie is giving Amy Winehouse a piece of her mind on her crispy new track "Crying For The Queen"

"Save all that cryin for the queen, go back to the mother land have your mama hold your hand if you eat your eggs with runny beans, save all that cryin for the queen," she dishes. "Judgin your behavior and your junky routine it's time for you to get clean and stop creating a scene, girl you ain’t got shit on me."
Oooh. Touchy touchy.

The Kooks got got me smitten.

I'm feeling all goody now so I'm offering a guilt-free MP3 download of The Kooks covering "Young Folks," that beautifully mellow and incredibly catchy tune by Peter Bjorn & John. I'm sure you've heard the song virtually EVERYWHERE since its release in 2006 from television commercials to movie soundtracks, and now the British indie rockers give it a spin of their own with a dose of rock 'n roll swagger. The Kooks are currently finishing up their U.S. tour to promote their most recent LP, titled "Konk. If you liked their single Naive, then you'd surely like this. The female vocals on this cover are by emerging Canadian singer Simon Wilcox.
