The French do it best! Daft Punk probably ranks top or almost top (before or after J.U.S.T.I.C.E) to my all-time faved electronica/techno artists. The guys started sometime in 1987, so they must probably be middle aged men. I'm not saying they're old, but if my dad is one of the world's most renowned music gurus, then I'd probably have one helluva-SHWEET life.

The duo is considered one of the most successful electronic music collaborations of all time, both in album sales and in critical acclaim. I wouldn't wonder why their next step was to release a DVD of their movie. And I'm telling you firsthand, ELECTROMA was BRILLIANT.

Oh! Which reminds me...

Electroma was one of the very few pieces from music artists for film that I actually appreciated. Thinking of Mariah Carey's perfomance in Glitter made me realize how completely talentless a singer CAN be, for once.

So, Lycos Cinema will be making available exclusively for one day prior to DVD release, the critically acclaimed Cannes Film Festival award-nominee Electroma, a.k.a Daft Punk's Electroma. Written and Directed by Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel De Homem-Christo, the film follows the history of two robots, the members of Daft Punk, on their quest to become human. Fans of Electroma can continue to access the film in Lycos Cinema's featured rental releases. Go to THIS PAGE for more.

Ladyhawke, my choice of New Zealander. News about her, below.

As always, I love mixing things every now and then. I have with me the freshest news from the music industry. A collaboration of an Iceland princess and a "Reckoner", Something Peach-y, and an aMIAzing pregnancy. So prepare yourself, cause this post is a KILLER!

I had high fun at Ohh! Crapp. with the amazing news I heard in the site.

The Killers New Album

The Killers new album... Looking pretty artsy here. It looks pretty much the same with the Ishihara test for color blindness, right? {photo here}

M.I.A. Creates a ---

MIA shows off her GINORMOUS belly at a Diesel ridonculous xXx party. If The big lovely bump in her belly up there didn't clue you in, M.I.A. has some news. "I'm creating a baby." As M.I.A. made sure to point out, "I got engaged first, then I got pregnant, kids."

Justice is {WTF?} + Poster

Can somebody please explain what this poster is trying to tell us?

The DVD is almost out (yay), and I for one am pretty ecstatic.

Mr. Oizo and Uffie remix

Yep, its a Mr. Oizo feat. Uffie remix. I miss this gal. And I hate not being able to host this mp3, so thanks to Ohh! Crapp for the source.

Mr. Oizo feat. Uffie - Steroids

The Gossip fuses with Simian Mobile Disco
Simian Mobile Disco fuses with The Gossip's Beth Ditto and Gruff Rhys from Super Furry Animals and Neon Neon to sing on their forthcoming second album to be released early 2009 - half of the album is done. This is gon' be good.

Peaches + Ladyhawk + Bjork + Radiohead = Awesome

Rumors say that Bjork & Radiohead's front man Thom Yorke have recorded a collaboration song titled Nattura to be released on the 20th of Oct!

Peaches is recruiting heaps of people to help her out with her next album including Gonzales, Simian Mobile Disco & Digitalism!

Other than finding out Ladyhawk is a lesbo (does T-bird still apply?), it's been confirmed that her next single is going to be My Delirium with remixes by Chateau Marmont & Fan Death among others!

 The inimitable Parisian Rapper, Uffie

I can't believe I hardly have Justice posts here, partly because they're prolific remixers, partly because their music is great to mashup, and partly just because they're awesome. I don't think it's hyperbole to say that their Cross album is the best indie dance album of last year; if they keep on putting out remixes of a similar quality they're slowly going to take over the world. Cross really deserves to be heard in full but here's a sample if you haven't heard it yet. It's track 8 and it features Parisian rapper Uffie.
