Electro-pop darling Neon Hitch does this winning track with Sia's melodramatic melody from Breathe Me playing in the periphery of the track and Mike Posner's lyrics. She definitely shows some range with her recent cover of Travie McCoy's Billionaire which you should check out. Not enough to entice you? You'll do a double-take then with this soulful Snoop Dogg approved cover of Drop It Like It's Hot then. Catch her at on the BMI stage at Lollapalooza, 12:30 pm Sunday, 8th of August!

*Neon Hitch isn't a pseudonym guys. It's her legit name. How cool is that?

Beck's new Record Club Thurston Moore and Tortoise have decided to cover Yanni’s live album “Yanni Live at the Acropolis”. Comes as a surprise to you, does it? Here's Beck on his thoughts about the move:

"This installment of the Record Club takes on ‘Yanni Live At The Acropolis’. The original album featured Yanni with a full orchestra at the Athenian Acropolis. A TV special of the concert was played repeatedly on PBS through the mid 90’s. To flesh out and capture the complex arrangements, several studio musician heavyweights were brought in to read a heavily doctored score with interpolations of everything from Stravinsky to Shania Twain (look for others). Beck and Thurston Moore from Sonic Youth provided auxiliary music and noise, with Thurston improvising lyrics over the previously instrumental track ‘Santorini.’ The new lyrics give the track an added urgency and pathos. Tortoise show up later on a few other tracks."

Thurston Moore improvised the vocals from the song and Tortoise wasn't in the song though. Below is a video of their performance and their interpretation, below:

I have previously posted The Delfield's cover of The Cranberries hit, Dreams. Now Passion Pit did their own version too, and performed the piece as a surprise encore after playing EVERY SINGLE PIECE FROM CHUNK OF CHANGE AND MANNERS during their recent tours from Washington to parts of Atlanta. It sounds faintly like Jonsi of Sigur Ros, don't you think? Anyway - Love Love Love it! Here's the cover. Enjoy!

NEW B.o.B: Kids (MGMT Cover)

B.o.B has gone a long way and his successful album The Adventures of Bobby Ray and currently # 2 in the Billboard 100 chart, his track "Airplanes" with Hayley Williams of Paramore are a testament to that hard work. And I've read of MGMT's refusal to perform Kids in the UK upon request, so now, in somewhat an impromptu session, B.o.B performs it with a live band. His fun and upbeat version of the Oracular Spectacular track and B.o.B.'s notable high energy is the best thing of the track. Listen to it below.

CLEAST EATWOOD: Electric Feel (MGMT cover)

Noise by Yoshi Sodeoka

Cleast Eatwood is a Swedish guy and girl duo that make brill electro pop in a more tamed sequence. This is an old cover of MGMT's hit and it subtly negates the annoyance you might have with the overplayed MGMT hit.

Florence + The Machine, who is nominated for 3 awards in the 2010 Brit Awards (Best British Female, Best British Album, Best Breakthrough Act) plays coy in this cover of Robert Palmer's Addicted To Love. Included is her old (not to mention loud) cover of Beirut's blissfully wonderful track, Postcards from Italy. Listen and download the original, below. Artists make mistakes and Florence's cover is one. There are songs just hard to do and sorry to say this but her cover doesn't showcase anything new or original. In any case this song is too unique, and Zach Condon (of Beirut) should be lauded for making the song before the age of twenty.

Selfhood by Tanya Johnston

Because he believes in himself, he doesn’t try to convince others.
Because he is content with himself, he doesn’t need others’ approval.
Because he accepts himself, the whole world accepts him.
-- Lao Tzu

This a stronger rendition of a Bon Iver favorite of mine. The original is profoundly better but this cover isn't too shabby as well. Wonderful art from Tanya Johnston.

BBC Radio 1 was graced by Lady Gaga and her crew as she perform some songs INCLUDING a cover of Coldplay hit Viva La Vida. The words may not have been entirely right but her quirky play with the lyrics- "Be my Chris, and I'll be your Gwyneth" was a Gaga trademark.

Catch the interview and performances here or download the song below.

Hey there, I know my posts haven't been much indulgent lately (are they?). Anyways, if you haven't heard, Bloc Party's will physically release their album, Intimacy, and to quench your thirst I have a few bonus tracks which started to pop up around the internet last week.

Billboard got in on the news. here's what they said:

Bloc Party is expanding its third album, “Intimacy,” for CD release on Oct. 28 via Atlantic. Fans who pre-ordered the album through the band in August received an immediate download of the set, but without the songs “Letter To My Son,” “Your Visits Are Getting Shorter,” “Talons” and “Flux.”

Those four tracks, plus acoustic versions of “Talons” and “Signs,” will also be available in the wider digital release next week. “Some of the tracks weren’t even finished when we put it on the Internet,” drummer Matt Tong tells Billboard.com. “And you have to sweeten the deal out there for the traditionalists.”

Although nothing is confirmed, Bloc Party has tentative plans to return to North America in December for some radio station-sponsored festivals.

Here is the final track list for “Intimacy”:

(1)“Ares” (2)“Mercury” (3)“Halo” (4)“Biko” (5)“Trojan Horse” (6)“Signs” (7)“One Month Off” (8)“Zephyrus” (9)“Talons” (10)“Better Than Heaven” (11)“Ion Square” (12)“Letter To My Son” (13)“Your Visits Are Getting Shorter” (14)“Flux”

Here are the download links, they're Zshare so click on to listen. I actually got really good tracks, you'll love them, I promise.
