WEEKLIES: Best Of Remixes Part 1

When all else fails, we have our remixes to turn to. Ever since I learned to skip classes in college, I never got the hang of keeping myself in one place for a long time. Which figures how much I am drawn to remix versions of radio hits. Anyway, taken from a friend's recommendation,  here are the first 15 of the BEST REMIX TRACKS I have encountered...So Far (MTV, pun intended).  It's unlikely but I have created a particular liking to the Kid Sister and Hot Chip remixes. How about you?

Reminders:
1. The ** is a YOUSEND IT Link. It  may or may not have a link, so check on it.
2. The Song title and Artist is a MEDIAFIRE link and all it HAS links so, don't worry.

Comments and thanks are extremely recommended. **,

Uhmm--WOW.

Anne Hathaway absolutely killed it at the Venice Film Festival premiere of her new movie "Rachel Getting Married." Not only is she garnering Oscar buzz for her role as a rehabber, but this dress makes a mark on every end of the year Best Dressed list.

It's true that looking good is the best revenge, and Anne is now adding a footnote: It's a dish best served BOLD! Here is the gorgeousness from another angle.

After quite some research, Thieves By Tuesday* presents the movie posters that, despite not being the big blockbusters or top grossing movies (well, for others) they wished to be, made it to the top of our BEST POSTERS OF ALL TIME list. Did you think their posters were a benefit to their success? I think so. Read more of the post here.

Almost Famous

Kate Hudson made the character, and the poster's straightforward attack made its appeal not only to the viewers, but to me as well.

Amelie / Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amélie (The Fabulous Destiny of Amélie Poulain)

Amelie's face (played by Audrey Tatou) has that sly look in her face that tells you she's keeping a secret you'd surely want to know.

American Beauty

I don't know about you, but seeing that flat tummy was enticing. Add a rose to the party, and you got a hooker. Kevin Spacey was great in this movie. Hats off to Annette Bening.

Fight Club

Chuck Palahnhuik's novel-turned-movie was one of my most enjoyed movies. And the satire represented in the bar soap advertising and funny tagline "Mischief, Mayhem, Sap" puts it right in this list. This movie was epic, I'm telling you.

Forrest Gump

Bare white background, plain bolded text and beloved Tom Hanks looking innocently into God-knows-where makes this rather mediocre poster a classic.

The 40 Year-Old Virgin

The Judd Apatow comedy was a laugh trip for me. Steve Carell's impeccable wide-eyed grin was the poster's main catch. His orange glow, the neat, preppy polo and "Better Late Than Never" made this a winner.

Jungle Fever

The color contrast was more than enough to give this poster a second glance.

Lost in America

The movie was a bore. This poster wasn't.

Momento

The polaroid-on polaroid-on polaroid shot is fierce!

Moonstruck

I just love how free-spirited Cher looked in the poster with the moon behind. The Cher - Nick Cage tandem didn't work for me, though.

Any more suggestions? Lemme know what you have in mind!

"Great guitar riffs with great timing and awesome synergy of the sound"--one of the comments I got after letting a few friends hear So3's single MIA. And I can't help but give the stamp of approval.

On the contrary, So3 wasn't missing in action with their MIA single. The song entrance was reminiscent of The Foo Fighter's Everlong and a bit of Interpol's Heimlich Maneuver but their big-tent guitar rhythms was entirely their own.

The lyrics despite their simplicity was a good formula for a radio-hit. Mike Artamonov (vocals and guitar) was smooth in the vocals but it didn't taint the headbanger-rock quality provided by the So3's Serge Belongie. The duo detonates a Stooges-style boogie-punk bomb that could get any hooligan's fist pumping.

S03 toured to coast-to-coast--San Diego to NYC--spreading the MIA hit to an even wider audience. Listen to this ear-candy and download. For more of S03, go here.

No, really, ALL I see is the white limousine. I don't know why teenagers love the limousine, especially for prom.. Oh wait.. What?

Oh yeah--the breasts. I actually didn't notice it UNTIL you mentioned it.

Not only is this dress breaching the protocol of polite society, I am almost certain it is defying laws of physics. Someone needs a mirror, or honest friends.

I know... I enjoying this as much as you did. :)
